To address this, a strategic partnership with <\/span>LyondellBasell<\/span><\/a>, a global leader in circular economy solutions was formed. This program represents a critical shift in our mindset: moving away from 100% reliance on fossil-derived resources to exploring sustainable research and development <\/span>in the nursing bottle category.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACTIONS<\/h2>\n

With this partnership, the team successfully integrated LyondellBasell\u2019s <\/span>CirculenRenew polypropylene (PP)<\/span><\/a> polymer into the newly designed Pigeon SofTouch\u2122 <\/span>Bio-based Polypropylene (BPP)<\/b> nursing bottle. Replacing 20% of the key PP components (cap, hood, handle, and PP bottles) with polymers derived from renewable feedstocks, such as used cooking oils and bio-based waste, rather than depleting finite fossil resources.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To ensure safety and transparency, we secured the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS, a voluntary certification scheme designed to validate sustainability characteristics of alternative feedstocks<\/span>1<\/span><\/sup> assuring consumers that our bio-based materials meet strict international sustainability requirements.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside our environmental efforts, our collaboration to support Smile Asia<\/a> initiatives remains a top priority. This partnership is a long-standing priority for the SofTouch\u2122 range, and we\u2019ve included their logo on our new packaging to help raise awareness for their vital work. For us, this collaboration goes beyond a contribution; it\u2019s about being present on the ground \u2014 ensuring that every child has a path to healthy development.<\/p>\n

RESULTS<\/h2>\n

This initiative has transformed our sustainability goals into measurable outcomes that directly benefit the planet. By reducing our reliance on virgin plastic, we have achieved a 70% reduction in the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) for the relevant bottle components compared to conventional polypropylene<\/span>2<\/span><\/sup>.<\/span><\/p>\n
