PROGRAM OVERVIEW

In its mission to create a more baby-friendly world, Pigeon Singapore has been championing sustainability through a nationwide Nursing Bottle Recycling Campaign, launched in 2019 as part of our “Go Green” program. This long-term initiative supports Pigeon’s mission to reduce environmental impact — ensuring we leave behind a richer, greener Earth for future generations of babies.

Families across Singapore are encouraged to trade in or drop off their used nursing bottles at designated collection points. The collected plastic is then processed and repurposed into raw materials for new plastic products or toy components, giving old bottles a meaningful new life.

To bring this recycling journey closer to families, Pigeon Singapore partnered with Plastify* — a local non-profit organisation — at the Mummys Market Baby Fair in April 2024. Together, we demonstrated how used nursing bottles can be upcycled into something purposeful and personal — custom name tags made from recycled plastic.

Pigeon Go Green Both

ACTIONS

Over the 3-day event, families who brought in used bottles were invited to experience the upcycling process firsthand. Although the plastic had been pre-washed and shredded into pellets, participants took part in the exciting next steps — melting the pellets, injecting them into molds, and creating their very own name tags.

This hands-on activity gave families a front-row seat to witness the transformation of plastic waste into something new and meaningful. It also deepened understanding of how everyday actions — like recycling — can contribute to a more sustainable future.

RESULTS

Through this collaboration with Plastify, 250 personlised name tags were upcycled and distributed during the event. Beyond demonstrating recycling in action, the partnership aimed to educate and inspire families to take simple, impactful steps toward reducing plastic waste.

The initiative also marked a refreshing shift in how Pigeon Singapore engages with families at baby fairs — moving beyond product showcases to create meaningful experiences that blend education, interactivity, and sustainability.

Parents left feeling empowered, knowing that their small actions — like recycling a used bottle — can make a real difference in shaping a greener world for their children.
