A Pacifier with Purpose: MiniLight Pacifier Sustainable Collection in Collaboration with The Animal Project

Singapore, 25 June 2025 – Can something as small as a pacifier inspire a bigger movement – one that soothes babies, protects the planet, and uplifts voices from the autism community? Pigeon Singapore officially launches the MiniLight Pacifier Sustainable Collection, a meaningful collaboration with homegrown social enterprise The Animal Project (TAP). Designed with both impact and intention, each pacifier in the collection is a quiet yet powerful symbol of inclusivity, sustainability and the creative brilliance of artists with special needs.

A Collaboration that Celebrates Inclusivity and Diverse Talents

True to Pigeon’s brand promise to “Celebrate babies the way they are”, this partnership goes further to celebrate people the way they are, especially individuals on the autism spectrum. According to the World Health Organisation, approximately 1 in 100 children are diagnosed with autism¹. This collection honours that reality by highlighting the exceptional talents of artists who see and express the world differently. Each pacifier features exclusive hand-drawn artwork by three Singaporean artists from TAP:
  • Foo Thong Keen, who has keen eyes for observational drawing (pun intended). His animals often carry a bewildered expression; their eyes are wide open, with jaws dropped in disbelief.
  • Jolie Lim, whose illustrations have a mischievous and joyful streak. Her animal illustrations are so quirky, they put a smile on your face.
  • Tay Jun-Yi, who simply loves drawing animals. With just a black marker, he brings each creature to life through distinctive, cheeky expressions and vivid depictions of social interactions – something he rarely initiates himself due to his autism.
This isn’t just packaging; it’s a canvas for advocacy. With every purchase, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to supporting these artists, shifting perceptions from disability to creative potential. It’s a gentle act of parenting that carries a powerful message – that every child deserves love, and every individual deserves a voice. “This collaboration with Pigeon strengthens our resolve to support inclusion and diversity. It is an excellent platform to raise greater awareness of the special needs community by celebrating their abilities rather than their disabilities,” said Roland Tay, Founder and CEO of The Animal Project. This sentiment is echoed by Pigeon Singapore, whose commitment to purposeful partnerships lies at the heart of this collaboration.“This partnership with TAP is deeply meaningful to us,” said Hongo Masataka, Managing Director of Pigeon Singapore. “It allows us to support local talent, raise awareness about inclusivity, and bring even more heart to our products. We hope families feel the love, care and purpose woven into every detail.”

Where Comfort Meets Conscious Design

From Left to Right: Pigeon MiniLight Pacifier Sustainable Collection Size S, M and L Thoughtfully engineered, the MiniLight Pacifier Sustainable Collection is Pigeon’s lightest ever pacifier – designed to stay in the baby’s mouth longer while providing superior comfort. Its soft silicone nipple supports natural sucking, and large air holes prevent moisture build-up. Tailored for different stages, it comes in three sizes: Each box contains two pacifiers, each featuring a unique design inspired by the TAP artists’ original illustrations. Beyond comfort, the MiniLight Pacifier Sustainable Collection embodies Pigeon’s belief that even the smallest products can take meaningful steps toward reducing environmental impact. The pacifier’s shield, button lid, and hygiene cover are each linked to 20% ISCC-certified bio-based plastic² derived from renewable alternatives such as residual oils rather than conventional fossil-based feedstocks. This bio-circular feedstock², selected after years of rigorous R&D, ensures a lower carbon footprint³ without compromising product safety or performance. By integrating social and sustainable initiatives into product development, Pigeon is redefining the standards of modern baby care, offering parents a conscious option to nurture not only their children but also the planet and its people. This reflects Pigeon's purpose to step forward in creating a more baby-friendly world for all. The Pigeon Minilight Pacifier Sustainable Collection will be available for S$12.90 (2pcs). They can be purchased at Pigeon, Agape Babies, Baby Kingdom, Baby Toddly, Fairprice, Mothercare, Motherworks, Lazada, ShopeeThe Animal Project, Watsons, and Takashimaya. To support The Animal Project (TAP), TAP items can be purchased through their preferred retail partner, The Art Faculty (TAF) at the Enabling Village, as well as at Pathlight School’s Ang Mo Kio and Tampines campuses. Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles: The New Third-Generation

Pigeon: The Softest Touch

Pigeon revamps and upgrades its iconic SofTouch Nursing Bottles with an even softer nipple and an added research-based latch-on line.

It also launches T-Ester bottle, an innovative glass-like material first used in nursing bottles.

Singapore, August 2022 - Pigeon, the number 1 brand for nursing bottles preferred by moms and babies around the world, has remained true to its purpose to create a baby-friendly world - constantly improving and enhancing the journey for both moms and babies. To better cater to as many babies as possible, Pigeon has researched on and revamped its most popular SofTouch Nursing Bottles to create an even softer nipple with a research-based latch-on line. Developed to functionally mimic the feeding movements that babies perform when drinking from mother’s breasts, the new Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles are crafted to especially support breastfeeding mums by enabling them to feed their baby from both breast and bottle seamlessly. In addition to the new nipple, Pigeon has launched a new nursing bottle using the innovative T-Ester, a material developed exclusively for Pigeon in Japan. These new Pigeon SofTouch T-Ester Nursing Bottles are UV-steriliser friendly, and possess a stronger resistance to UV degradation compared to other plastics. The new Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles will start rolling out from 19 August 2022 at all authorised retailers.

Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles: The New Third-Generation

Developed based on years of research to closely replicate a baby’s natural nursing motion, Pigeon developed the new SofTouch Nursing nipples using a softer silicone, structured to encourage babies to latch on easily and properly, as if they are breastfeeding. Research conducted by Pigeon revealed that a breastfeeding baby takes the mother’s nipple into the mouth to a depth of approximately 22mm from the tip, with the lips covering the breast up as far as the areola. A mother’s nipple is also studied to stretch to about 1.4 times its usual length in the baby’s mouth. Designed with a wavy “Latch-on Line” for the approximate and recommended mouth position and the depth at which the baby takes in the nipple of the mother, the new nipple on the PigeonSofTouch Nursing Bottles guide both the mom and the newborn towards a good and effective latch-on regardless of the size of the babies mouths.   Using a softer silicone that enables smooth tongue movement, the nipples of the new Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles are deliberately designed to be as close to the softness of a mother’s breast as possible, making the switch to and from breast and bottle a seamless and fuss-free one.   An innovative material that has never been used in nursing bottles, T-Ester is a type of plastic that has unparalleled durability - with a high resistance to UV degradation, the Pigeon SofTouch T-Ester Nursing Bottles are capable of maintaining its glass-like clarity even after 100 hours of UV sterilisation. This makes thorough-cleaning and the gauging of when the bottle needs to be switched out a complete breeze.

The-Animal-Project-Limited-Edition-Bottle-2022

Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles: Leaving A Better Future For The Next Generation

"We strive to create a future that is full of joy and freedom; a future that encourages curiosity and celebrates diversity. " Mr. Yusuke Nakata, CEO, Pigeon Singapore Business Unit

With that, Pigeon has developed a limited edition series under the new Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles in collaboration with The Animal Project - a social enterprise that supports inclusions and celebrates talented local artists with autism and the related challenges. The Animal Project empowers artists with special needs, with every sale of its product embellished with the artist’s artwork, by contributing directly to the artists’ income through a royalty payment scheme. In line with Pigeon’s commitment to leave a more sustainable future for all babies growing up, the limited edition bottle is made with Biomass-PP, a 100% bio-based plastic made from pulp-derived tall oil and waste cooking oil instead of petroleum. The drawings of animals in a beautiful biodiversity on the body of the bottle is printed using laser printing technology instead of ink, which generates less heat and waste.

Pigeon SofTouch Nursing Bottles: All Smiles Are Precious

Honouring our commitment to understanding and addressing babies' unique needs means that we need to cater to all babies, no matter the differences. This is why we have partnered with Smile Asia, a global alliance of charities working together to raise standards of medical care for babies born with cleft lip and cleft palate. Pigeon is committed to contributing to the creation of opportunities for collaborative learning and exchange of best practices to treat the facial deformities. From cash donations to the sponsorship of products to Smile Asia that are essential for babies with cleft to be used in medical missions and care centres, including cleft bottles, long nipple bottles, and nursing bottles, Pigeon also commits to a sponsorship of other products for medical missions and care centres, including baby wipes, anti-bacterial wet tissues, and hand sanitisers. To support the specialised training and education programmes for healthcare and allied professionals, Pigeon also offers the sponsorship of relevant products to be used at the training centres. -END- About Pigeon Corporation Pigeon was founded in Japan in 1957 by Yuichi Nakata with the aim of meeting the needs of mothers worldwide by producing a range of high quality, durable and user-friendly merchandise for babies and toddlers. Since it began, the company has grown steadily and has a strong brand presence in more than 70 countries. Today, Pigeon is a market leader and the preferred brand in the baby and mother care segment. This collaboration with Pigeon brings a fresh, interactive element to our store, allowing families to explore and customise baby essentials in a way that’s both practical and enjoyable.” He added, “A baby bottle is more than just a feeding tool; it’s a part of a baby’s daily routine and a parent’s bonding experience.

Every sales will go to contribute to the artists' income through a royalty payment scheme. About Smile Asia Smile Asia is a global alliance of charities working together to treat facial deformities. Successful Breastfeeding Webinar ‘Ask The Expert’ – August 2020

We wanted to delve deeper into the burning questions that parents have and thus we did a breastfeeding webinar for 'Ask the Expert' and it was indeed a successful and informative one! We invited Dr Wong Boh Boi, and 2 mummies Amber Yong and Sheila Cheong, who shared their breastfeeding experiences and sought Dr Wong's advice. Amber is an experienced mom of 3 while Sheila is a new parent with a 2 month old newborn then and they represent the different parenthood journey. We further stimulated the discussion and brought the Q&A session to the attendees and the discussion topics got really interesting and fruitful where parents not only got to hear from Dr Wong, but also spoke to Amber and Sheila as well!
